Wido Docs
Wido allows for true any token payments.
For Merchants, NFT Providers, and Marketplaces: Accept the coin you prefer on any chain.
For Users: Pay with any token on any chain.
Merchants and Marketplaces today have a token they prefer getting for their services.
  • Sandbox accepts SAND tokens for all items in its marketplace.
  • Aavegotchi accepts GHST tokens for all items in their marketplace.
  • Your favorite NGO might accept crypto donations but wants it in USDC.
Users would like to keep their wallet balance in the token of their choice rather than a bit of everything.
  • Bob still believes in US Dollars and is earning with Yearn on USDC.
  • Carolina is an ETH Maxi and holds ETH2X-FLI-P by Indexcoop, a 2x Leveraged ETH index.
There is a lot of friction for Bob and Carolina to interact with Sandbox, Aavegotchi, etc., since they don't directly accept the tokens they have in their wallet. If they want to interact with these products, they would need to withdraw their deposits, bridge, and swap their tokens leading to frustration and loss of interest.
Wido is the connection between what users pay with and what merchants receiveโ€”enabling users to pay with any token they want increases merchants' conversion rates and broadens their total addressable market.
It is a use case known from the real world: European shops accept EUR, but users can pay with any currency they want. People can pay using US credit cards with dollars, and the conversion to EUR will happen automatically. People can also pay with Indian Rupees, and the same thing will happen. Real-world payments work with any token, and we don't even question it. There is no need to exchange currency to EUR before paying in Europe. We need to create at least the same experience in crypto.
Users enjoy an improved UX as they don't have to spend time withdrawing and exchanging tokens and do not have to maintain a variety of tokens in their wallets that they may not use in the future.
